TwitterEveryone knows that Twitter is hot, red hot. It’s growth curve is soaring and as more and more people join the service, new and innovative uses seem to pop up.

Being interested in all things science, one of the latest uses for Twitter that caught my eye has to do with Open Access repositories.

Tipped by fellow Twitter user Eloy Rodrigues (@cibertecario02), there are currently two open access repositories currently tweeting new deposits. They are Southhampton Univeristy’s ECS repository (@eprintsecs) and Minho University’s RepositoriUM (@repositorium).

I find this to be an interesting way of keeping up with the knowledge flow at universities or departments within universities. I hope to see other OA repositories join Twitter soon.
