Opening the way for Science
A topic that I’ve been following with great interest, for quite some time now, is the open access movement in science dubbed with various names such as Science 2.0, Open Science, Open Notebook Science, etc.
The names vary and so do the methods through which the knowledge is shared but it’s great to see that there are various attempts to push this movement forward with great projects like Jean-Claude Bradley’s UsefulChem, MIT’s OpenWetWare, Rosie Redfield’s RRResearch and many others which I’ll mention in later posts.
I truly believe that open access to scientific information via the immense weave that is called the Internet will be the way of the future and I hope to be among those that contribute to it.

I just read an Einstein quote yesterday that reminded me of the open source –
“If I gave you a penny, you would gain that penny and I would lose a penny. But if I gave u an idea, we would both get to keep it.”
To free knowledge, and no more paying $30 for access to a journal article.
