When life sciences meet design
So design is something that usually doesn’t really have much to do with science. Specially if it is Intelligent Design (ha!). But when creativity and some intelligence get mixed, some beautiful pieces of art can emerge.
I somehow came across a few websites that have some very cool ideas that play with science and art and may I say that if I had the bucks, I’d probably spend a handsome figure on some of this stuff.
Well, let me start off with some DNA and some fingerprints and when some creativity is mixed in, we get some amazing pieces of decorative art.
DNA 11 has a beautiful website that offers some amazing pieces of art based on you. Namely your DNA and your fingerprints.
If you’re comfortable with sending your DNA and fingerprints in the mail, then you can have a beautiful DNA fingerprint or just plain fingerprint blown up on a canvas and turned into art for your home or office. Amazing, if I must say so.
Next, I’ll show another creative idea, this time for the girls. The geeky girls, to say the least. How about jewelry made of molecules? Oh yeah, everything is composed of molecules, but I mean, molecules as jewelry. Get it? Don’t worry, just take a look at Made with Molecules.
Still keeping with jewelry, I found another DNA bracelet, different from the one I got some time back for her. This one is more of a double helix style bracelet. Cool nonetheless.
