Using animals for laboratory experiments is always controversial and I guess it really is if you decide to give some rats some of the most used narcotics found on the streets. This would be an odd bunch of rats to have in your lab, specially with that dancing fellow in the corner high on ecstasy…
What am I talking about, you ask? Check out this brilliant animation done by the Genetic Science Learning Center at the University of Utah.
It’s obviously not the most thorough presentation on the physiological effects of taking such drugs but it is a great way to get a lot of the less complex information across to the general public.
Just pick up the one you want to know more about, and off he goes into the analyzer thingy!
