Valentine’s day goes molecular, microbial and odd
Yes, it’s almost that time of the year again and this time I happened to notice quite a lot of geeky presents, but more science related than computers.
Why give chocolates to your loved one when you can give him/her the important part of chocolate. Yes, yummy little Theobromine! On a t-shirt, that is.
And if your partner happens to be one that likes plush toys, don’t even think about teddy bears and giant hearts. Think bad breath, mono or even heartworm. You say what?! Yeah, great little giant plush microbes of all kinds!
I happen to have a couple of those microbes that were made for me (in clay) by my girlfriend, they look great on any scientists desk!
Still looking around ThinkGeek’s website, I happened to find this odd little treat that lets one perform a blood typing test. Now you and your loved one can find out if you are really compatible. As in blood type compatible!
On a side note: the DNA and Protein Enzyme Chemistry bracelets I purchased at Niphty.com have arrived. Too cool!

That is really too geeky ;)
[...] keeping with jewelry, I found another DNA bracelet, different from the one I got some time back for her. This one is more of a double helix style bracelet. Cool [...]
I was “googling” myself and found your blog. I’m glad you liked the bracelets! My degree is in molecular biology, so I think your blog is really cool.

Best wishes!

Hi Heather, thanks for dropping in! :) The bracelets are cool. My girlfriend loved them.
I found the idea fantastic and hope you come up with more innovative designs. I’ll be checking back :)
